About Us

APFEI was established as a result of consultations held during the inaugural Asia-Pacific Educational Integrity Conference, (University of South Australia, Adelaide, 21-22 November 2003). Practitioners and researchers from Australia and internationally agreed on the importance of having a central point of reference where issues of educational integrity could be discussed, researched, progressed and shared with the wider academic community.

The current committee is made up of representatives from Australian universities - from a range of disciplines and research interests - who are all deeply committed to the advancement of educational integrity.

The Journal

One of the initial objectives of the APFEI was the production of an international refereed journal, the International Journal for Educational Integrity (IJEI),where research on educational integrity can be disseminated in an accessible and cost-effective format. The journal challenges readers to consider the changing nature of education in a globalised environment, and the impact that conceptions of educational integrity have on issues of pedagogy, academic standards, intercultural understanding and equity.

For those interested in submitting orginal research papers for review and possible publication in IJEI, please contact the Editor, Tracey Bretag (tracey.bretag@unisa.edu.au). The open access journal can be found at: http://www.ojs.unisa.edu.au/index.php/IJEI

Conferences

Another responsibility of APFEI is to oversee the ongoing, biennial conference on educational integrity. The third conference, 3APCEI 'Creating a culture of integrity', was held at the University of South Australia from 6-7 December 2007.

The fourth conference, 4APCEI 'Educational Integrity: an inclusive approach', was held at the University of Wollongong from 28-30 September 2009.

The 5th Asia Pacific Conference on Educational Integrity 5APCEI will be held at The University of Western Australia, Perth from 26–28 September 2011. The 5APCEI conference website is:
