Invitation to contribute to the wiki

Dear APFEI members (old and new!),

This message is to invite you all to contribute to this wiki and make it a useful repository of resources for those interested in all matters to do with educational integrity.

I have to admit to being a bit of a technophobe, and so have resisted using or contributing to the wiki for some time. However, today I thought I would bite the bullet because I had found some really useful links and wanted to add them for others to access. Well, it took about 10 seconds. The wiki can be edited just like any word document, with the only difference being that you start by clicking on the pencil icon at the top of each page. And then you have to remember to save it. Simple! No need to hyperlink or muck about with any html.

So, I hope to see people adding to the various sections, starting up discussio threads and generally getting involved. I look forward to reading your posts!

All the best,

Hi Martin and all

Congratulations Martin for setting up the Wiki and this Committee forum. I can see how good it will be to have a record of our discussions. Once the email to advise about changes works will we get notification of a new posting?

We could also be the place for other interested groups to have discussions. Eg the Australian Turnitin Users Group have just started emailing each other - maybe they could have their own group/forum.

Martin I haven't had a good look aound the Wiki yet - I'm really looking forward to exploring it.

Many thanks for all your work. It's looking good.

Cheers

Hi Tracey,

Hope you are fully recovered from your jet lag and trip over here!

I see the times mentions you this week: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=26&storycode=402598

Have you heard anything more from JB or EP yet on your research proposal?

Silly idea: hope you don't mind but I had an idea a while a go which I wanted to run past you. I think it would be really useful to have international network of organisations interested in promoting academic & research integrity. I have floated this past some of our current partners and I think the idea has value. Given your suggestion about deeper collaboration between us, would you be interested in extending this idea and helping me found such a network? I say network because it would need to be a community rather than admin heavy entity! At this stage I am thinking about putting together a website with a private blog/website (already playing with an outline using Google's tools) for network members, a public facing blog of member activities backed-up twice yearly forum (probably by video conf). We (NL) would cover the admin and setup etc, which would be a good forum to stat communication, but ultimately think it could be a good 'people' vehicle to help set standards and terminology international as well as acquire funding for research (As you can tell the idea is very embryonic!).

Let me know what you think.

Regards,
